Little Buddy

Having little friends over is a great excuse to get the camera out!  Steve snapped these when we watched this little guy, and I love all the different expressions he caught.

Such a handsome little man, and so sweet!  Love him.

A great tip to remember when photographing children is to
      get down on their level.

Jumping Back into Photography

We have been on a break, for a season, from taking photography clients. We were in a season of life where our small children and Steve's full time job required all of our attention.  But now, we are excited to share that we are jumping back in! Our focus will be on weddings, and we are teaming up with our friend Justin Clemons and starting a business together.  You can view our new wedding website here.

We will also be scheduling a few portrait sessions as time allows.  I love portrait sessions! I love giving people images that are alive and full of emotion and captured moments. Here are a few of our favorites from a recent shoot we did with our friends Mike and Janessa...

Pandamania

At the end of the last night of VBS week, we have a parent program where the kids perform the music they have learned all week.  This year, we had 6 different groups singing 6 different songs for a total of about 370 kids.  My music team was in charge of making sure that each of the 6 groups learned the words and motions to their special song that they would perform for their family and friends.

On Friday night, the kids were all amped up and super excited.  We had 370 kids packed into the middle of the auditorium, and probably 200+ adults sitting in the chairs.  It was barely controlled chaos.

Seth was in the last group of the night.  Steve took these shots of him while I was down in the front doing the motions with the kids in case they forgot.  It really was so much fun, but I didn't get a chance to focus on Seth while he was performing.  I am so glad Steve got these pictures.

Seth was ALL IN during the performance and obviously, pretty happy about being on stage and singing "How Great Thou Art."  Love it.

Seth was lucky to have his cousin Austin (on the left) in his group this year.  They are usually separated by grades, but they grouped the kids by families this year.

Love this face...

Random Everyday Moments

I absolutely love this picture that Steve took of Seth. I just love the red, paint splattered background and the scrunchy nosed expression on Seth's face!!

Super Sad, Superman.

Allen Splash Park

I have been fully immersed in Vacation Bible School for the last few weeks. I was in charge of the music portion and we had 370 kids attend for five straight nights.  Crazy fun, and then this girl was crazy tired!  Now it is time to get back into the swing of things, gear up for the school year, and get back to blogging.

These were taken several weeks ago.  We have a local (free!) splash park that we took the boys to one morning.  Alas, I cannot take credit for these pictures.  Mr. Horvath took them.

They love getting under this wall of water.  These fountains go on and off on a timer, so it is always a mad dash for the kids to get back under there once they click back on!

Caleb had to warm up to this one.  He doesn't naturally love water spraying in his face, but once he tentatively tried it out a couple of times, he was hooked!

This splash park stuff is serious business.

Chillaxin' with Daddy

Caleb was not a snuggler as a baby or toddler.  He always preferred to be moving and grooving, not sitting still to be rocked or held.  It has taken a while, but we are starting to see a turn in the tides.
