When I Was Younger...

When I was younger (lot's younger), I used to always say things like, "When I'm a mom, I am going to be a "cool" mom. I am going to stay up with the trends. I am going to resist the urge to age before my time. I'm not going to wear "mom" jeans. And I am for sure NOT going to EVER drive a minivan."

Fast forward to 2009 and I have three kids 5 and under living in my home...

Now, if someone told me I had won the Car Lottery and I could pick ANY car out there that I wanted, what do you think I would pick?

I also used to think minivans were cheap. A 2009 Honda Odyssey with 20K miles on it goes for $35,000 on Craigslist. At that cost, I might be able to get a 2009 Honda Odyssey in about 2015...

You're so funny. I'm with you on the minivan thing. i used to always say I'd NEVER want one. And now I totally do.
How is everyone sleeping at night these days? We should try to skype in the middle of the night. =)

Me too!! I swore, under no circumstance, would I drive a minivan!! No way, no how! I would carry my kids like a pack-mule before I drove a minivan, I proclaimed.

Then we went looking at vehicles. I wanted a Honda Pilot, but Russ convinced me to "just sit in" an Odyssey. After about thirty seconds in there, I announced, "If you don't want to buy this dude, you'd better get me out of here RIGHT NOW." Oh, man. I try to reserve "awesome" for God, but I'm telling you, it's as close to awesome as you can get...without actually being in heaven.

HAHAHA - yeah, I think we all used to say that. I always said I wanted a big cool SUV. And then we went somewhere with two of our kids and some friends in their SUV. And it was a pain in the BUTT.

And now that I'm one of THOSE mini van drivers, I don't mind one bit. :) The automatic doors just scream awesomeness. HAHAHA
